1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others watch what you do. Ours are the first kind.
2. The cookies we set
All of these are strictly necessary. The Platform cannot work without them, so they are not subject to consent.
- Session cookie. Identifies your browser’s session so the Platform knows which pages belong to you. It holds a random identifier, not your details. Expires when the session ends.
- CSRF token (
XSRF-TOKEN). Proves a form submission came from a page we served, blocking cross-site request forgery. Expires with the session. - “Remember me”. Set only if you tick that box when signing in, so you are not asked for your password on every visit. Persists until it expires or you sign out.
3. What we do not set
To be explicit, Roote PR System does not use:
- advertising or retargeting cookies;
- third-party analytics such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar;
- cross-site tracking of any kind, or cookies that profile you for marketing.
This is why you are not shown a cookie consent banner: there is nothing optional to consent to. If that ever changes, we will ask you before setting anything new.
4. Managing cookies
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking ours will sign you out and prevent forms from submitting, because the tokens that make those work are the cookies themselves.
5. Panelists
If you answer questions over USSD or WhatsApp on your phone, no cookies are involved at all — those channels do not use a browser. What we hold about you is set out in the Privacy Policy.
